gman1290 on YouTube By The Numbers [2022 in Review]

In the 2021 calendar year, gman1290 on YouTube gained a proper dose of reality from the historic 2020 pandemic year. For 2022, the stats were nearly identical to the previous year. Most of the main categories did not change as they have been consistent over recent years.

When it comes to video viewership, there was a 92.75% decrease in 2022 compared to 2021. This drop was nearly double to the previous year. However, watch time gained 0.78%. This was a rebound from 2021 and watch time has been in the positive for eight of the last nine years.

In the Traffic Source category, ‘Browse features’ was the top source at 29.4% followed by ‘Youtube search’ at 19.9% and ‘Suggested videos’ at 18.2%. The United States was the leading country accounting for 52.7% of all views. This was followed by the United Kingdom at 4.5%, then Brazil at 3.5%, Canada at 3.2% and the Philippines at 2.8%. New subscribers increased about +1.700.

Throughout the year, viewership was rather consistent with the biggest uptick occurring in the fall season (October – December). The highest demographic was among 35-44 year olds at 30.6% and males at 53.4%. The most watched time period occurred on Saturdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

In closing, the 2022 year was mostly similar to 2021, both noticeable drops compared to 2020, but still on or above average numbers overall. While consistency is better than the alternative, the hope is that more viewers help steady the waters to bring in numbers similar to pre-pandemic levels.
