Yeah so I'm embarrassed to admit this but I've been topping up my radiator with regular garden hose water for maybe eight months because I kept forgetting to buy coolant and honestly I didn't think it was a big deal. Now a friend told me that's how you get rust and scale buildup inside the engine and now I'm panicking. The car still runs fine and doesn't overheat but I'm wondering if I should get everything cleaned out properly before real damage happens. Been looking at a precision coolant system flush Dubai to try and undo my stupidity and saw Dynostar's radiator page mentions a thorough flush that removes deposits. Has anyone else done this after using tap water and did it actually clear everything out or is the damage already permanent? Really hoping I caught this early enough because I plan on keeping this car for a few more years.

Finally found a certified Audi transmission shop in Sharjah that didn't overcharge me

My 2012 Q5 started making this awful grinding noise when shifting from park to reverse, and I was terrified it was the whole transmission gone. A friend recommended I try a place in Sharjah Industrial Area that's known for working on Audis, and honestly I was hesitant because I've had bad luck with cheaper shops before. But this place turned out to be a Sharjah Certified Audi Transmission Shop with actual certifications on the wall and technicians who only touch German cars. They diagnosed a broken mechatronic ground wire within an hour, fixed it for under 400 dirhams, and even showed me the damaged wire on a workbench. I've been driving for two weeks now with zero issues. I couldn't believe the dealer had quoted me over 7k for a "full transmission diagnosis and possible rebuild." If your Audi is acting up, don't just assume the worst, look for a certified specialist even if it means driving to Sharjah. The savings and peace of mind are totally worth it.

Driving back from Al Ain last week, my 2015 740Li suddenly lost power and the dreaded "drivetrain malfunction" message appeared. I limped to the nearest garage who quoted me for six new injectors and a DME repair, totalling over 15k. Something didn't feel right so I called around and found a place that actually has Abu Dhabi Certified BMW Technicians who ran a full diagnostic and discovered it was just a faulty boost pressure sensor and a cracked vacuum line. Total bill came to under 1,500 and the car drives perfectly now. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the first shop. These guys knew exactly what to look for on the N63 engine and even showed me the old sensor on the bench. If your BMW acts up, don't panic and don't trust the first quote you get. A specialist who knows these cars inside out makes all the difference.

I bought an Amaron battery online last week thinking I'd save a few dirhams by fitting it myself in my driveway. Watched a couple YouTube videos, seemed straightforward enough. Well, long story short, I couldn't even get the old terminals off without rounding a bolt, and then I dropped the wrench across both terminals which gave me a nice spark and a heart attack. At that point I just called a professional. Found a team of Amaron Battery Installation Experts Dubai who showed up within the hour, had the right tools, cleaned the corroded clamps, put the new battery in properly, and even reset my radio and windows. The whole thing cost less than the takeout dinner I was about to order anyway. I honestly should have just started with them instead of messing around and risking damaging my car's electrical system. If you're like me and think "how hard can it be" just learn from my mistake and let the pros handle it. They also tested the alternator and found it was charging fine which gave me peace of mind. Definitely worth the small fee for the speed and safety.

I've been calling around for quotes on replacing my 2015 Grand Cherokee's front control arms and ball joints because the bushings are totally shot and the steering feels loose. The dealership wanted just under 5,000 dirhams for the job, which seems insane to me. Then I found a small shop in Mussafah that said they could do it for around 1,800 using aftermarket parts, and another place quoted 2,200. Now I'm sitting here wondering if going with the cheapest option means they'll rush the job or use junk parts that fail after six months. I'm not made of money but I also don't want to pay twice. Has anyone actually found Affordable Jeep Repair Abu Dhabi that doesn't cut corners on stuff like suspension work? I'm not talking about major engine rebuilds or anything, just solid routine repairs at a fair price. Would love to hear if you've had good luck with a budget-friendly shop that still knows what they're doing, or if I should just save up and go somewhere mid-range. Really torn on this and driving feels sketchy right now so I need to decide fast.

I'm in a strange situation and I need some outside perspective because I'm not sure if I'm being smart or just overthinking myself into a bad decision. I found a 2017 Mercedes GLC that I really liked, the seller seemed decent, and I paid for a full inspection which came back mostly clean. The inspector noted some wear on the front suspension components that he said was normal for the mileage and not urgent, and a small oil seep from the valve cover that he said was common on these engines and wasn't leaking enough to worry about yet. Everything else checked out, no accident damage, good compression, transmission shifting smoothly. By all objective measures, this is a solid car that should be fine for years with normal maintenance. But for some reason I just can't shake this feeling that something isn't right. The seller has been a bit pushy about closing the deal quickly, and when I asked if he'd be willing to come down on the price to account for the suspension work that will be needed in the next year or so, he got a bit defensive and said the car is priced fairly and if I want a new car I should buy one. It wasn't a huge deal but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Now I'm sitting here with a clean Pre Purchase Car Inspection report and a seller who's waiting for my answer, and I'm leaning toward walking away even though the car itself seems fine. Has anyone else ever walked away from a car that passed inspection just because the seller gave you a bad feeling? Am I being ridiculous or is that gut feeling worth listening to even when the facts say the car is okay? I just don't want to regret either decision.

I've been reading posts on here for months while dealing with my own mess and honestly it helped knowing I wasn't alone, so I figured I should finally contribute now that things are looking up. I was working for a moving company down near Fishkill last year and we were doing this big piano move up a spiral staircase, absolute nightmare scenario, and long story short the strap snapped and the piano came down right on my foot. Crushed a bunch of bones, needed surgery, whole nine yards. The insurance company was giving me the runaround for ages, trying to say I wasn't following proper procedures and all this nonsense. I was getting so frustrated with the phone calls and the paperwork that I finally broke down and started looking for a workers comp attorney Dutchess County based that had some experience with these bigger moving companies. The guy I ended up with was great, totally took over the calls and handled all the back and forth so I could just focus on physical therapy and trying to walk again. We finally settled last week and while it's not gonna make me rich, it covers my medical bills and the time I missed and that's all I really wanted. Just wanted to say hang in there to anyone who's in the middle of a fight, it does eventually end.

After reading about fifty million blog posts I've settled on nine days for my first Morocco trip and I'm trying to convince my friends that this is actually the perfect amount of time to see a decent chunk without burning out. Everyone keeps saying two weeks minimum but I just can't take that much time off work right now. I found this really thoughtful 9 day Morocco travel itinerary that starts in Marrakech, heads over the mountains to the desert for a couple nights in a camp, and then winds up in Fes before flying out from there which seems to hit all the highlights without that frantic "must see everything" energy. My only hesitation is whether spending two nights in the desert is too much if you're not the type to just sit and stare at sand for hours but I keep hearing that the stars and the silence are something else entirely. Also trying to figure out if we should book a private driver for the desert leg or join a group tour to save money and maybe meet some other travelers. Anyone done a similar loop in about nine days and have thoughts on pacing or must-see stops along the way?

I totally agree that e-visas have made a huge difference in planning trips, cutting out so much of the old embassy waiting game. It really lets you focus on the fun part, which is figuring out where to actually go and what to see. For instance, when I was mapping out a longer trip recently, I spent ages looking for a solid route that balanced travel time with sightseeing. I eventually found a really practical 9 day Morocco travel itinerary that broke everything down day by day, which was a lifesaver. Having both the entry logistics sorted and a clear plan on the ground makes the whole experience so much more relaxing.

This is such a weird one and it's driving me crazy, my 2021 Mini Cooper S makes this horrible grinding noise only when I reverse and only for the first few seconds. Once I start moving forward everything is completely fine, no sounds no vibrations nothing. I've noticed the brakes feel a tiny bit grabby sometimes too like they're sticking slightly when I first start driving in the morning from my parking in Barsha. I'm guessing maybe the pads are wearing unevenly or there's some rust buildup because of the humidity lately but I'm not entirely sure. I've been looking around for a place that does proper Dubai Mini Cooper brake pad service because I know these cars are a bit different with their European systems and I don't want some general garage messing it up. A colleague mentioned there's a specialist in Al Quoz that only does Minis and BMWs but he couldn't remember the workshop name. Has anyone dealt with something similar on their Mini? Would love to know if a simple pad change fixed it or if I need to look at something else like the calipers sticking. Also if you know a good reliable place around Al Quoz or even Sheikh Zayed side please let me know, really want to get this sorted before it turns into something more expensive.

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience because I'm really pleased with how everything turned out. I've been driving a 2020 Renault Koleos for about three years now, and it's been a great family SUV. Comfortable, spacious, good features for the price, and pretty reliable overall.
The problem is, after three years of regular use, the car was definitely showing its age. The metallic gray paint had lost its shine and looked dull, there were swirl marks all over from regular washing, some light scratches on the doors from parking mishaps, and the front bumper had quite a few small rock chips. The headlights were also starting to look a bit hazy.
Inside wasn't terrible but definitely needed attention. The fabric seats had some stains from the kids' snacks and drinks, the carpets were matted down and dirty, and there was this general worn look to everything. The dashboard had dust in all the vents and crevices, and the steering wheel was showing wear from daily use.
I'd been thinking about trading it in for something newer, but honestly, the car runs perfectly fine and has been reliable. My wife suggested that maybe it just needed a really good cleaning to feel fresh again, so I decided to invest in proper detailing before making any decisions about replacing it.
I started looking for a Renault complete detailing and polishing solution that would address both cosmetic issues and provide some protection going forward. I wanted a comprehensive service that would handle everything from paint correction to deep interior cleaning.
After checking reviews and comparing services, I found a detailing shop that offered complete packages for mid range vehicles like mine. They weren't the cheapest option, but they also weren't trying to charge exotic car prices, which seemed fair for a Koleos.
When I dropped off the car, they did a walkthrough with me and honestly assessed what could be fixed and what couldn't. They were upfront that some of the rock chips on the bumper couldn't be completely removed without repainting, but they could minimize their appearance. I appreciated the honesty rather than overpromising.
The exterior work was comprehensive. They did a full decontamination wash, clay bar treatment, and multi stage polishing to remove the swirl marks and restore the shine to the paint. The difference was dramatic – the metallic gray now has depth and sparkle that I hadn't seen in years. They also restored the headlights so they're crystal clear again, which not only looks better but actually improves nighttime visibility.
All the black plastic trim pieces got restored to their original dark color, and they cleaned and polished the wheels thoroughly. They applied a sealant to the paint for protection, which should make it easier to maintain and help it resist fading.
For the interior, they shampooed all the fabric seats and carpets, removing stains I thought were permanent. They steam cleaned the dashboard, center console, and door panels, getting into all those dusty vents and crevices. The steering wheel was cleaned and conditioned, and all the plastic surfaces were treated to prevent fading.
They even cleaned things I wouldn't have thought about, like the seat belts, sun visors, and inside the door pockets where crumbs and debris accumulate.
The whole service took about 7 hours, and when I picked up my Koleos, I was genuinely surprised. It looked better than when I bought it three years ago. The transformation was incredible, and suddenly the idea of trading it in seemed unnecessary.
My wife was really happy with the results, the kids were impressed that their "old" car looked so good, and I'm enjoying driving it again. For the cost of the detailing, I've essentially extended the life of my vehicle by making it feel new again.
If you've got a Renault or any mid range vehicle that's looking tired but mechanically sound, I highly recommend investing in professional detailing before considering a replacement. The difference it makes is substantial, both in appearance and in how you feel about your car.
Has anyone else brought back an older vehicle with detailing? What were your results, and did it change your opinion about keeping the car longer?
