I manage a small business site with no dev support, so technical issues usually land on me by default. Most of the time I'm learning as I go, and a single typo in a config file can feel like a disaster.

I've been working through a group of technical SEO tools covering redirects, robots files, sitemaps, and headers. Having them side by side meant I could work through a checklist in one sitting instead of hunting for separate tools. Honestly, the redirect and sitemap checks surfaced the most surprises.

For those handling technical SEO solo, what do you audit first? I'm trying to figure out an order that doesn't waste hours. Does anyone batch these checks monthly, or only when something breaks?

My back corner is dry shade under a big maple, and I spent hours scrolling nursery catalogs with nothing to show for it. Most plants labeled "shade tolerant" assume moist soil, which I definitely don't have. The tree roots take every drop of water.

A friend suggested the plant finder on Gardenvoila, where you filter by conditions, so I tried sorting by shade and dry soil. The list shrank to something manageable, and a couple of options I'd never heard of showed up. I haven't planted yet, so I can't say how they'll perform.

Still, starting from conditions instead of looks felt smarter. Has anyone had luck filtering first and picking second? I'm curious whether the shortlist matched your real-world results, especially in tough spots under trees.
