It took an embarrassingly long time for us to notice but the way we were handling logistics and storage at our Ajman facility was quietly eating into margins in ways that weren't obvious on the surface. Stuff like double handling, poor stacking, wasted vertical space, goods getting nicked or dented because nothing was properly secured during moves. My operations guy finally sat me down with some numbers and it was genuinely eye opening. We started to explore better options for logistics and storage and what surprised me most was how much of the problem came down to the containers and crating we were using rather than anything more complicated. Apparently when your crates don't stack cleanly or your storage units aren't modular you end up compensating with extra labor and space that you're literally paying rent on for no good reason. Someone in a local business group mentioned CrateCo Pack LLC based in Ajman as a supplier worth looking into for this kind of thing, said they deal with commercial and industrial packaging needs which is roughly the direction we want to go. I haven't made any decisions yet but I'm curious whether other small to mid sized operations in the area have gone through a proper logistics audit before changing suppliers or if most people just make changes gradually and see what sticks. The idea of overhauling everything at once feels risky but doing nothing also clearly isn't working.
