I've been reading about Pentecostal theology, especially spiritual gifts like tongues and healing, but a lot of stuff feels either too academic or too emotional. Last week I saw a street preacher lay hands on someone who then started speaking in tongues—it was intense, but I couldn't tell if it was biblical or just performance. Can someone point me to a balanced resource that explains core Pentecostal beliefs and how they practice gifts in real life?

I had a similar reaction the first time I saw spiritual gifts practiced in a public setting. A friend attended a Pentecostal service where people prayed for healing and spoke in tongues, and he left wondering where biblical teaching ended and personal expression began. That pushed him to read more before forming an opinion. I came across Non-denominational churches Prescott  while looking for a practical Pentecostal perspective, and their church resources give some useful context on worship, discipleship, prayer, and outreach. I'd still compare it with Scripture and other perspectives rather than taking one source as the final word.
