The use of short forms enables them to respond immediately without having to write a complete sentence. It also makes one feel like a part of a group, because in many cases, slang is used in the peer groups. Although it is not harmful in most of the situations, parents are advised to make children use full words where rules are considered in a formal manner such as during schoolwork to ensure articulate and effective communication skills.
