Finding reliable motion components for loading mechanisms

Recently I started rebuilding a small loading setup in my workshop, and the manual mechanism I used before is no longer keeping up with the heavier cycle routine. When the platform moves back and forth under different loads, the motion becomes uneven, and sometimes the travel stops halfway, which slows down the whole process. Since the frame itself is still solid enough, I'm considering shifting to an electric solution that can manage frequent movement without adding unnecessary complexity, but I'm still unsure what type of motion component fits systems focused on material loading
